Cat Dossett

Everybody Loves the Sunshine
Cat Dossett is a mixed-media artist and writer living outside Boston, Massachusetts. Their work compiles cutouts from luxury magazines with scraps of paper from years of working in stationery stores. Collage is, for them, a means of discussion, a way of working through a problem until a solution emerges. It is also a lesson in trusting intuition as the artist allows gut-feeling to guide the work. In their pieces, Cat Dossett extracts abstraction from representative forms like the human body, animals, landscapes, and objects, seeking the unfamiliar in the familiar. What results is a field journal that examines themes of identity, empathy, and human nature.
