Omauri “Mars On Arts” Byron-Edwards is an Integrated Studio Arts major from Boston, he immerses himself in all mediums but mainly centers his practice in painting. Omauri draws attention to social norms, intersectionality, power structures, and interpersonal relationships in his work through the power of visual metaphors, storytelling, and symbolism. Omauri highlights parts of the human experience, from loneliness to resilience. His goal consists of building bridges of empathy, community engagement, and self-acceptance among his audience.

Influenced by cartoon shows and contemporary artists in his early childhood, his work moves between abstraction and representational portraiture, supported by a visual language of patterns and vibrant colors. Through abstracting reality, he captures elements not visible to the eye; birthing a fantasy that disconnects from real life and enters a new, unfamiliar, and saturated realm.
