Brittney Bourne

Illustration of a child wearing a fox costume holding their mouth apart with their fingers to make a funny face
Brittney Bourne, Artist
A Jamaican-American illustrator and character designer, Brittney received her BFA in Studio Arts at the School of Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts University in Boston, MA. She has a passion for imagination and play and uses her work to reflect on her childhood, bring her young self's imagination to life, and deal with her struggles then. She strives to create illustrations that mean and stand for something bigger and influence children, adults and adolescents alike to believe they can do anything they put their minds to. She works in gouache, ink, watercolor, and acrylic markers and repeats that process in her digital work. Her influences have always been Studio Ghibli, Disney, Avatar The Last Airbender, and many late 90s and early 2000s anime, cartoons, and video games. When she's not drawing, she enjoys reading, playing video games, embroidering, and drinking tea. To see more of her art, visit her website or Instagram @atinyartist.
