Coolidge Corner

Jesseca Dottin-McKie is a self-taught, multidisciplinary artist and jewelry designer based in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She works across abstract painting, mixed media, and handmade jewelry, and color drives all of it. Her compositions come alive in bold layers of color, line, and form, and each piece takes shape through experimentation. Her art moves with energy and feeling, and it invites viewers to find their own meaning in it.

Family runs through her creative life. Dottin-McKie learned jewelry-making in childhood from her mother, Daryl Dottin, a Cambridge artist, and she draws influence from the work of her grandparents, Todd McKie and Judy Kensley McKie.

She is the founder and artist of Jesseca Simone Handmade Jewelry & Art. She studied early childhood education at Salem State University.

Her work honors where she comes from while reaching, with color and conviction, toward what comes next.
