Sitting in Snow

Sydney Rajchel and Katie DePasquale

Sydney Rajchel is originally from the Front Range of Colorado and Montana. Sydney is currently based in Boston, MA. She holds degrees in both Fine Arts with a minor in Economics and in Chemical Engineering. Her work explores the conscious and subconscious veneration of Home and The West, particularly being separated from it. Sometimes taking on a narrative folklore like aura, her art strives to create scenes that inspire a sense of longing by creating idealized images pieced together to make scenes that never truly existed, and seem surreal for the forgery. She creates these romanticized images to illustrate the stories in her head, stories she tells herself about home and the west.Sydney’s works are on display at the Carbon County Art Guild in Red Lodge, MT.

Katie DePasquale is a visual artist residing in Boston, MA. Painting is her main medium, with a focus on still life's, maximalist interiors, and landscape studies inspired by the ever changing interactions we have with our surroundings. She took up painting again in 2020 after a long hiatus, while living in a small apartment in the city with her husband, dog, and newborn. Her paintings of domestic spaces are often representative of the absence, and inadvertent presence, of the human figure. With patient dogs awaiting the return of their owner, a sunlit picnic table, wilting flowers, or messy pillows, we leave an imprint on our surroundings in unique ways. Katie loves to explore many different color pallets, while always with a focus on creating what she enjoys, and trying to make her work fun. Her work can be found on Instagram at @katiedepasqualeart
