David Shein started Upcycle with two goals: create visually appealing art and contribute to the conversation about the environment. His unique clocks and scultpures are fashioned out of discarded bicycle and automobile parts and mounted on reclaimed lumber. This work is intended to help viewers think about the important role they can play in protecting the environment by reusing objects large and small, recycling to reduce trash, and making other eco-friendly choices every day.
His work is also currently on display at the Charles River Museum of Industry and Innovation in Waltham. David is a primary care physician in private practice in Wellesley.
You can see more of his unexpected art here or coming into the J.P. Licks in Coolidge Corner.
